Cableways in in Heiligenblut am Grossglockner

Summit victories without the exertion: on top of the world with the Grossglockner/Heiligenblut Cableways

There’s nothing quite as exhilarating as standing on the summit of a mountain, soaking up the panoramic views and looking out over the valley below. With our excellent cableway system, the experience is yours – even without any of the physical exertion. Instead, you float up towards the sky, enjoying ever more stunning views of the surrounding mountains with every metre you travel. At the top, you simply step out of the cablecar and straight into the natural world of the Hohe Tauern.

Summit victories and Panorama trails in summer

After you’ve stepped out of the gondola, it’s only a short walk to the summit of the Schareck mountain. It seems incredible to be able to enjoy such breathtaking views with so little physical exertion. At an altitude of 2600m, you are greeted by a stunning panorama of the Grossglockner and up to 40 of its fellow 3000-metre peaks. A hike along the Geotrail Tauernfenster, which also starts out at the cableway summit station, is a little more demanding: leading up to the Hochtor, it is an alpine hiking trail requiring a good level of surefootedness.
