Grossglockner Mountain run

The Grossglockner Mountain Run, leads through all alpine vegetation levels – from the alpine cultural landscape to the high alpine glacier region. After the start, the route runs through the village to the valley head of Heiligenblut. Then it goes in direction to the “Sattelalm” and afterwards to the “Briccius Chapel”. The longest glacier in the Eastern Alps, the Pasterze, is reached via the “Trogalm”. After a distance of 13 kilometers and 1,494 difference in altitude, the finish is on the “Kaiser Franz-Josefs-Höhe”.

You measure your time with us on two measuring tracks. Already since 2016 there is a permanent timing at the original competition route to the Kaiser-Franz-Josefs-Höhe. You can run your very own private mountain race on the original course. Since summer 2018 you additionally measure your time along the hiking trail at the “Naturgerfahrentrail” between the middle station Rossbach and the mountain station at Schareck. In between are 900 meters of finest mountain running trail, which not only measures your time, but also spoils you with beautiful nature and great views.
