Grossglockner High Alpine Road

Austria's highest view along the dream path into the Hohe Tauern National Park - the Grossglockner High Alpine Road

The Grossglockner High Alpine Road is not only a real specialty today, winding its way impressively over green alpine pastures and through rocky high mountain terrain. Franz Wallack had a vision. He held on to the idea of a north-south connection via the Fuscher-Törl until 4,000 men managed to achieve in just 5 years what no one would have thought possible until then. A technical and logistical masterpiece of the time, which produced innovations that have endured to this day.
