Journey to Heiligenblut at the Grossglockner

What's the quickest way to get to Heiligenblut am Grossglockner? Set off straight away, by car, by rail or by plane.

By car to your vacation destination

When you think of the fantastic landscape and the wide range of leisure activities on offer in the Grossglockner/Heiligenblut adventure region, you will hardly be able to wait to finally reach your destination.

The following routes will take you on your dream vacation:

  • Via Munich, A10 Salzburg - highway exit Lendorf - Möllbrücke - via the B106 through the Mölltal valley

or from the Bischofshofen highway exit into the Gastein Valley, from Böckstein with the ÖBB Tauernschleuse to Mallnitz and via the B106 into the Mölltal Valley

  • Via Munich and Kufstein over the Felbertauernstraße to Lienz and on over the Iselsberg into the Mölltal valley
  • Via the Grossglockner High Alpine Road - only from May to October - Munich - Kufstein - Pass Thurn - Mittersill - Bruck - Heiligenblut
  • Via Udine, A2 Villach, A10 Spittal - highway exit Lendorf - Möllbrücke - via the B106 through the Mölltal valley
  • A2 via Klagenfurt to Villach, A10 Spittal - highway exit Lendorf - Möllbrücke - via the B106 through the Mölltal valley

By train - climate-friendly

You can reach the Grossglockner/Heiligenblut adventure area quickly, comfortably and in a climate-friendly way by train! The journey alone on the scenically impressive Tauern Railway makes the anticipation of a dream vacation grow from minute to minute! Your destination is one of the two IC-EC train stations Mallnitz-Obervellach or Lienz.

  • Public Postbus transport - connections from Mallnitz-Obervellach station:

Postbus number 102 departs just a few minutes after your arrival at Mallnitz-Obervellach station and takes you to Obervellach, from where you can take line number 100 to Heiligenblut. 

  • Individual station shuttle:

Order the Taxi Fleißner station shuttle when you make your booking! It will take you to your accommodation in a comfortable and climate-friendly way.

Above the clouds: Flight connections to the region

From lofty heights to the Hohe Tauern vacation region - the National Park region! The airlines Germanwings, Eurowings, Austrian and Easyjet will take you to Klagenfurt Airport. From there, you can travel comfortably to your vacation destination with the airport shuttle.

  • With Austrian Airlines from Vienna to Klagenfurt: Austrian Airlines flies up to twice daily from Klagenfurt to Vienna and back.
